If your case is local and that means approx. 10 miles away from my office e.g. Newcastle, Gateshead, Durham, South Shields or Sunderland and your case is listed for approx. 1 hour I will charge a minimum of £500 + mileage or train and parking.
If your case is local and is listed for more than 1 hour but less than 3, I will charge a minimum of £800 + mileage or train and parking.

None of my fees above include me doing any prep on your case, they are fees just for attending court.
None of my fees include me drafting skeleton arguments, drafting witness or position statements, advising you on matters in a hearing bundle, or preparing bundles – this can be done at an additional fee.
The fee does include a (maximum) 15 minute call with you and time (40 mins to 1 hour) with you before the hearing starts. If you need a longer call before the hearing that can be arranged at my hourly rate of £250ph.
If you are the applicant the judge will expect me to draft the order from the hearing. I charge an additional 1 hour of my time for that work.
If your case is outside my local area e.g Middlesbrough, Carlisle, I charge a fee for a 1/2 day which will be at least £1,500 and at least £2,250 for a full day. If your case is listed for more than 1 day my charges are circa £2,750 for day 1 and £2,000 for each additional day. These fees do not include travel and accomodation.
If I am travelling further afield e.g. Manchester, Liverpool, Preston, I will have to charge for a full day even if a case is listed for only 1 or 2 hours as as I may have to get a train before 6am to be at court for 9am when a hearing is listed at 10am and then I am not get back home till after 7pm, so I am out for a full day.
I will in all cases bill 20 miles round trip to Durham Station, a days parking at the station, the cost of the train ticket and depending on what time the train gets in I may need to get a taxi to court.
If I am travelling a long distance I may have to come down the night before so a hotel will have to be charged and if the case is listed for more than 1 day a hotel and meals will be charged.
I am willing to give all clients an initial 15 minute free telephone or zoom consultation.
If i am free to attend a hearing you MUST promptly pay a fee to retain the booking. Until you do so I am free to take other bookings.
